With the Pentagon now confirming numerous videos filmed by the navy of crafts performing unexplainable manoeuvres, is this still tin foil hat territory or are we on the verge of a big reveal?

Basically, yes - which suggests it is a lot older than the Pyramids near it (possibly the reason why they are there). It also suggests whoever made the original held lions in very high regard.
There's also claims that the weathering indicates that the un-remodelled parts were located in a much more inclement region than it was when it was remodelled.
Maybe "desertification" has been going on for millennia and we are currently in a quieter period.
Nothing to do with aliens, though.

I'd say whether C19 did indeed "pop up out of the blue" is actually a very, very interesting question. The Yanks are launching a heavy rocket today with a "spy satellite". Who knows, maybe they are going to be also looking for cosmic bugs?

I suppose the food problem could be solved by magical food-making machines, but the exotic disease problem isn't so easy. As HG Wells realised, any alien that comes to earth will quite possibly die of a disease that they have no immunity to. The same applies to us going to other planets with exotic life.

Sure, but a viable environment is not the issue. There are viable bases in Antarctica too. It's just that (1) no one wants to live there, and (2) it's very expensive to keep people there. People WILL live on the moon and Mars, but probably only a tiny number of people.
Think of it another way, say we find a planet where we can live reasonably well. How many diseases will it have that humans have no resistance to? Diseases that keep popping up out of the blue like COVID did? Except pandemics would be much more common and perhaps deadly in a world where we have no disease resistance. What if we can't digest the food there? What if cattle can't survive on the food there? What if our crops don't grow well there?
Humans are suited only to this planet. Aliens are suited only to their own planet. Space will probably always be a fun but never really tamed frontier. Our real future will likely be on Earth and will probably be unimaginable, in the same way that posting on WHO and watching West Ham on the net were probably barely imaginable 100 years ago.

We don't, and we probably won't, be in touch with any proper alien civilisation because:
a.) their Dyson products, like ours, are in the form of vacuum cleaners or hand driers. They are still burning fossil fuels to produce the energy to run them so will simply not have the means to make contact, just like we don't. On the Kardashev scale, they trying, and mostly failing, to be a Type I civilisation, just like us.
b.) their habitat, whatever it may be, is behind a Dyson sphere, which captures the energy of their host sun for their free use. They are too busy partying with other cool and relaxed Dyson sphere civilisations to be bothered with space plankton like us. They are Kardashev scale Type I, possibly Type II, and we are certainly not.

Considering the universe is 13.8 Billion years old and the Earth is 4.5, that's a 9.3 Billion year window of opportunity for life to develop before we came on the scene.
The same thread is probably live now on about 1M planets.
Each of which are being monitored / visited by Aliens who are seeing who's up to what.
VAR will then make a decision who to send off....and probably get it wrong as any planetary destruction will be made by committee.

Not sure that's really the case; the alignment of the stars was quite different 6,000 years ago.
The maths of the time would have been enough to line the pyramids up.
Not so sure the area around Cairo was the desert it is now, either.
Egypt itself was a lot further south, occupying much of what is now modern Sudan.
Now, the re-sculpturing of the face of the sphinx does interest me...
